Piers LANE

Sunday, 19th February 3pm, Concert Hall QPAC

A Night in Vienna celebrates the glorious music and timeless elegance of Old Vienna. In the tradition of the famous Vienna Philharmonic’s New Year Concert, the recital recreates the effervescent brilliance of Viennese musical life epitomised by the Waltz King Johann Strauss, including the beautiful melodies of the Blue Danube Waltz and Die Fledermaus. The Viennese Classical period is represented by the incomparable music of Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. Vienna’s famous Sachertorte, a culinary delight, will be specially created for concert patrons.

Piers Lane performs with many of the world’s leading orchestras. He was Artistic Director of the 2016 Sydney International Piano Competition and is Artistic Director of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music.
